Arlene Gorelick has been the President of the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan since 1989, and led the transformation of the organization’s focus from provision of medical care to its current priority of education and advocacy.
Under her leadership, the organization won the 1996 Crain’s Detroit Business Best Managed Nonprofit Award and the national Epilepsy Foundation awarded the organization the Affiliate of the Year Award. She has twice been named the Executive of the Year. Arlene has served on many national board committees and task groups. She is a past President of the Epilepsy Executive Leadership Council and a current member of the national Management and Operations Team.
Prior to her work with the Foundation, Arlene directed health-planning activities for United Community Services of Metropolitan Detroit and served as Deputy Director for Detroit's Head Start program. She holds a Bachelors degree and a Masters of Public Health from the University of Michigan. |
