In order to highlight the growing need for awareness about epilepsy, Gov. Jennifer Granholm has designated November as Epilepsy Awareness Month in Michigan. This gives the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan, and others, a special opportunity to inform the public about epilepsy and concerns within the epilepsy community.
We encourage you to tell someone you know about epilepsy. Share with them what it is (and what it is not), and how epilepsy affects those who have the condition as well as those around them. Only with this kind of open dialogue can we continue to dispel the myths about epilepsy, and we trust that Epilepsy Awareness Month will encourage such a conversation.
