Dakota Ruby Pequeno, known as Cody to family and friends, was a normal 16-year-old looking forward to her senior year. She enjoyed playing Powder Puff football, participating in the school talent contest, singing songs from her favorite movie Rocky Horror Picture Show and listening to Evanescence and Slipknot. But epilepsy claimed her life.
In an effort to ensure her memory lives on, the family of Dakota established the Dakota Pequeno Memorial Scholarship. It is their way of giving an opportunity to others who aspire to do great things in life--just like Dakota. |
